Data cables give the connection between the computer system and its hardware components. These cables are used for communication of the computer with other computers. When combustion takes place, the material emits toxic and corrosive gasses, cables made with plenum are utilized in air circulation thus can be used in fire extinguishers in the case of fire occurrence. The temperature of plenum varies since it is made up of different materials like the PVC and Teflon.

The plenum is the other material that is highest resistant to flame although they emit corrosive and toxic gasses as combustion takes place. They are used to circulate air. Thus the fire extinguishers with plenum cables are preferred in case of fire. The goods are made from different materials like the Teflon and PVC; its temperature varies because of materials used in making them.

The other characteristic of data cables is wire size. The wires diameter in American gauge increases when the number of AWG gets the tower. These wires are known, conductors. The bundled wires in cables, wire AWG, and temperatures are the factors that affect the current capacity in the wires.

The data wire shielding is made up of foil/mylar which is resistant to EMI thus utilized in printers and serial cables. The other type of shielding is the double shield; they are stranded wires that are interwoven in form of a cylinder. They excellently resist the EMI thus utilized in fire wire, USB, parallel cables and the high-end serials.

The shielding option has three categories; the foil/mylar, foil/mylar plus the braid and spiral shields. The foil /mylar have an excellent resistance of EMI and are used in printers and the serial cables. The foils /mylar plus the braid have an excellent strength of EMI; they are the stranded wires that are interwoven to form cylindrical shape . The braids are used in USB, fire wire, parallel cables and high-end serials. The spiral shield is utilized in highly flexible cables with excellent EMI resistance . The finely stranded wires are applied spiral.
