In most machines, vibrations have been a major cause in their damages. Thus a solution to dampening or making vibration proof fasteners came up. The only difference is the ability to resist vibrations or shock. Therefore, they can be used in any part of a machine and still work like a normal bold. They normally are also versatile as they can be re used in the same place they taken from because they normally are not destroyed during dissemble like in rivet joints.

They normally are very easy to install since some use the self-locking technology thus they normally are not complicated to install. They usually need to be loosely tightened and from the vibrations, the nut and the bolt grow to be tighter and tighter.
