Essential Considerations To Make In Brass Embossing Engraving

By Pamela Taylor

Brass is a common product used in most metal decoration processes. It is preferred due to its versatility making it the best metal for such processes. Embossing is the creation of decorations on a metal surface by raising the reverse side to make an image on the frontier side. Engraving includes the removing of metallic materials on the surface to make an image. Detailed from below are relevant considerations about brass embossing engraving to bear in mind.

Laser etching. It is a modern technique which relies on laser. There is no contact between the machine used and the product being etched. The results are very fast and efficient and achieve a graphic design which is exactly as per the expectations of the client. The process does not remove a lot of material on the surface compared with other processes.

The computer numerical control machining process. Basically, this process is an improvement of the traditional handcraft process by using computer controlled machines. The design of a decoration is made using normal computer graphics then made using this machines. It has the capacity to produce both two and three dimension images on standard products.

Use of hand in etching. It happens to be a craft method which requires an expert who is experienced in the process. The craftsman draws a separate design on a piece of paper, stick it around the surface and use it to remove the debris to make an image. It can as well make the two or three dimension figures but are not as accurate as the computer controlled method.

How to use foil to emboss. This kind of process can be handled by a person from home. The craftsman is supposed to find a special foil and draw the decoration image on it. It is then stuck on the metallic surface to be traced using a special stylus. The level of cut relies on the pressure that the crafting person exacts on the surface.

Heat pressing. The procedure relies on specially made heat pressing machines which sandwich the product supposed to be embossed to create a template. Some of the machines to use include the clam-shell press, straight stamps press, and the roll presses. There is a wide preference of die while using these machines to produce a distinct appearance.

Consider the combination process. It contains the use of both foil embossing and heating. The pre-embossed product is placed on a combination die machine to enhance the appearance of a decoration. The edges of this machine are used to cut out pieces which do not appear on an image.

Choose a reliable specialist. One cannot handle these process unless he or she is an expert and has the respective machines which are required. Otherwise, you need the intervention of a professional who is acquainted with these processes and has a reliable experience delivering them as well. Explain your designs in a clear manner if you want the final product to be similar to your expectations.
