The Benefits Of Epoxy In The Floor And Wall Coating For Industries

By Shirley Lewis

A covering type that is applied to surfaces of objects is referred to as a coating. Another term for this is substrate. There are 2 main purposes of coating application and these are the functional and the decorative but sometimes, both are used. One common example of these purposes is a product label in most drinking bottles in which one side has the functional coating and one side has the decorative coating.

One thing that is needed to be considered most importantly in the process is it must be applied along with controlled thickness. There are a lot of processes that may be used in achieving the control and it range from using a simple brush for wall painting to expensive machinery used mostly in electronic industries. Epoxy coatings are the most widely used type especially in Ohio floor and wall coating. The following are the advantages when using this type.

An epoxy and other polymers are resin based, thus, it helps in the protection of concrete walls and concrete floors when these are properly installed and engineered. Aside from an epoxy, other resinous types of systems are used as well by most walkways, manufacturing environments, commercial offices, and concourses. A lot of facilities already are experiencing the good benefits of this.

In companies which are involving the ingestible manufacturing such as pharmaceutical and food plants, bacterial growth is being inhibited. All the needed requirements for the sanitation are also complied by these. Commercial and industrial buildings such as laboratories and warehouses are one of those facilities that obtained the benefits.

First advantage is it is chemically resilient. Floors and walls that are applied with epoxy coatings is capable of surviving when being exposed to strong solvents, extreme exposure to pH, and also to chemicals. So this means that it is very useful especially to industries which are using the said substances regularly. The solid polymer can also result to having a strong surface and prevents physical and chemical breakdown.

Second it being safe. It contains a skid resistance which is customized for the prevention of falls and slips. The resinous types of flooring does not also contain the chemicals that would help in the promotion of mold growth because of antimicrobial additives like floroseptic that inhibits pathogen spreading. Through this, it can help in the upholding of safety for the employees and the structure.

Third is being cost effective. Concrete floors that are being coated with an epoxy or other resinous finishes typically have resistance to a substantial wear and also it last longer. Because of this, the money that are suppose to be used for the facility is saved for other purposes. Fourth is saving the time because installations are done quickly.

Fifth is cheap and can be easily cleaned. After the applying the coat, it may no longer be porous. This means that the chemicals, dirt, and some other substances will remain on the floor surface and are cleaned easily. Waxing is also not needed in these finishes.

Sixth is having a visual appeal. The coatings have different varieties of customized logos, colors, and patterns that would definitely fit in any facility style. Seventh is the brightness. Mostly, the industries would choose to have coatings with high gloss for enhancing the lighting. Also, floors which are coated in light colors would brighten the space and mood of occupants.
